Canopus Drilling Solutions Geothermal BV develops patented directional drilling technology with which 3 times larger geothermal production and injection structures can be drilled at low cost. As opposed to conventional drilling technology, the Canopus technology can steer a drill bit over long distances and drill various branches in opposite directions. The technology can be applied from surface to 7000m deep reservoirs in any rock type. Thanks to the Canopus technology many more geothermal reservoirs can be economically exploited withot the need for risky stimulatin technologies.
