Project description

This project will provide improved sustainable access to safe drinking water for 40,000 people in Wassa East District through a fee-based service delivery approach.
The partnership believes that local franchises trained, equipped and working within a network can become rural water supply service providers. Access Development Ghana (AD-G) will create franchises that will be trained by Water4 and IDEA (Netherlands) in all aspects of professional manual borehole drilling and hydrogeology, pump installation (manual pumps and solar pumps), borehole rehabilitation and maintenance, health, safety and hygiene, and good business practices.
AD-G will put in place a professional management system through the AD-G franchises working within a network, in exchange for reasonable and profitable tariffs, collected and managed transparently.
